“I could tell,” Alex teased, chuckling quietly. “But so am I.” He was always left exhausted and satisfied, yet somehow wanting more. As Peri rolled over, he shifted onto his side, propping his head up in his palm. The fingers of his other hand traced along the pale skin of her stomach, drawing invisible designs that he followed with his eyes. At her words, however, he met her gaze, his head shaking briefly. “I would never even consider it. You’re the only one I want to be normal with,” Alex assured her, leaning forward to kiss her softly. “It is less stressful, isn’t it? That’s definitely a nice change..”
Peri watched Alex trail his fingers down her skin with a small smile, a shiver passing down her spine as he continued. “Good,” She said simply, resting a hand on his face as he kissed her. “Shame it can’t last out there in the real world, though.” Unfortunately, stress was pervasive and unavoidable when one took their jobs into account.
