“Shush and go along with it.” The Doctor said in a sing song voice.

The Time Lord smiled, watching and waiting as the rest of the people who were in the room with them made their way over the large double doors on the other side of the room. The second the gigantic doors shut with a loud bang, the Doctor turned to his companion and dropped his facade. But here was still the tiniest hint of a smirk turning up one of the corners of his mouth.

“I’m not supposed to bring visitors here anymore. Not since last time… but if you’re my girlfriend they won’t ask any questions! You’re lucky! I almost said fiance! And they know who I am and that I don’t have any siblings so don’t get on me for not saying that! Just      shhh.” The Doctor placed a finger on his lips and smiled. “Let’s go! No questions.” He felt a blush starting to form on his cheeks as the funny feeling he had slowly started to turn into an awkward one. He probably should have come up with a better plan. This was was just going to be embarrassing. He could already feel it.

Peri had learned a long time ago that your best option with the Doctor was to just do what he said. The problem was, it went against her nature to blindly follow directions. Still, she looked at the group of people – well, she supposed they were aliens, weren’t they? – and put up an enamored front until the crowd cleared. She was hardly surprised that his mouth started moving at a million miles an hour as soon as they were alone, but was able to keep up quite well, as usual.

“God, whatever, Doctor,” She said, waving a hand dismissively. “It doesn’t matter now, it just threw me off.” Peri looked around the room, so large that their voices fell back to them in soft tones. “Come on, now,” she replied, laughing as she looked back at him and saw the pink in his cheeks. “No questions? Please tell me you’re joking. You know who you’re with, right?”
