heavy sigh, folding her arms on the table and
resting her head on them. “Of course I have
friends!” She sniffed in defense, pouting and
turning her head away from her sister. “They’re
just busy.” It was a lie, but that’s okay.

Peri propped her chin up in one hand, sandwich
dangling loosely from the other. “Yeah, dunno why
I even asked. You fly through it as long as there’s
minimal math and science.” She frowned at her
sister’s reaction to her next question, though,
eyebrows knitting together as she took another
bite of her food. “Okay, didn’t think I’d strike a nerve
there. What’s up, Abby?”
