“Nice to meet you, Peri. Even though the situation is a bit odd..” He offered a warm smile, trying to act as though she weren’t standing there in nothing but her underclothes. Admittedly, it was very difficult, and he had to fight to keep his eyes from wandering. Luckily she took his offered shirt, and he watched as she pulled it over her head. “That’s true. And it looks good on you..” Had he really just said that? Smooth, Alex. Real smooth. An eyebrow quirked as he noticed the way her eyes roamed over his exposed upper half, and he had to bite the inside of his cheek to keep from smirking. It was flattering, the way her eyes lingered, though he didn’t mention it when she finally focused once more. “Yeah, of course! It’s just-” His hands patted at his pockets, and he realized he’d left it inside. “It must be on the counter.. Do you want to come in? You could wait for your mum inside,” he offered, motioning behind him at the door to his flat.
A bit odd. That was one way of putting it, she supposed. Not the one she would have chosen, but of course that way was considerably longer and laced with expletives. “Nice to meet you too, Alex.” Peri became more at ease after she was covered. Barely. At the very least, she didn’t feel anxious. “I’ll take your word for it,” She laughed, shaking her head. At this point, her only choice was to laugh about this whole absurd situation. It was painful, she knew it and she had a feeling that the other did as well, but dwelling upon it was going to do nothing to make it less awkward. “That would be fantastic,” She replied quickly, walking past Alex through the open door. She looked around his flat for just a moment before turning around to face him again. “Sorry, that was rude. I just felt really…” She shuddered slightly. “Ugh. Just vulnerable out there. Paranoid.”
