        Alex nodded once, satisfied. “Good. I’m glad we got that settled. You’re the best I’ve ever had, too, you know..” He enjoyed being with Peri much more than any of the one-night stands he’d had over the years. The sex had been nice, of course, but not like it was with his girlfriend. It went deeper than just getting off with her; it actually meant something, and that made it more pleasurable in the end. Though that was probably just the romantic in him. He smiled at what she’d said, brushing his nose against hers briefly. “I think so, yeah.. I like it, too. Just as long as I get to be normal with you.”

        Peri smiled. “Probably has something to with the fact that I’m enjoying the hell out of it.” Sex had been near the top of her list of vices for some time, but she’d underestimated the effect that making love with someone she actually had an emotional connection with would have on the whole experience. She rolled onto her back with a sigh, keeping her gaze on Alex. “I always thought normal would be the worst thing ever. Turns out that it’s just less stressful. I certainly hope you’re not out there somewhere being normal with anyone else. We’d have to have a serious talk if you were even considering it.”
