Empty boxes in hand, Alex pulled open the door to his flat, freezing suddenly at the sight of a half-naked girl across the hall from him. Being a guy, he couldn’t keep his eyes from wandering briefly, his mind processing all the pale skin and the few tattoos that covered said skin. He soon snapped out of his daze, however, feeling heat creep up his neck as he prayed that she hadn’t noticed. “Uh, are you okay?” Stepping out into the hall, he placed the boxes on the floor beside him, not sure if he would have to defend himself against this girl if she turned out to be a loonie. Though she didn’t look crazy, but he knew he was just biased because she was hot. “I’m guessing that’s your flat, and you got locked out?” Best day ever.
Peri had already determined that this was unquestionably the worst thing to happen to her in the past… oh, she’d probably go with five years. When she heard the door across the hall open, that number jumped all the way up to eighteen. A deep blush colored her cheeks, and she kept her back to the person standing there with a futile hope that either the color would fade or they would just walk away. And, of course, it was a male voice that asked her if she was alright. With a heavy sigh, she turned around to face her new neighbor. What a first impression she was making. “Good guess,” she deadpanned as she crossed her arms under her chest.
