Alex grinned at the sound of her laughter, watching her fondly. Her words caused a strange tightening in his chest, and he nodded in agreement, taking a step closer. “Fine, you don’t have to get my name as a tattoo.. I like what we have, too.” He’d never seen her tattoo because of how she wore her hair, though he assumed that’s where it was as she touched it. “Is it behind your ear there?”
“That’s what I thought,” Peri nodded, glad he was seeing it her way. Not that she thought he was serious to begin with, of course. “Yeah, that’s it.” She took the hair tie she rarely used off of her wrist and pulled her hair back, turning her head to the right. “I’ve got Papa’s name there and part of Hamish’s fingerprint on the other side in the same spot. I’ve thought about getting something somewhere for Mum and Father too, but I can’t come up with anything.”
